Keyword to Sitemap Generator - Plan URLs Free

Convert your keyword list into a structured sitemap in seconds! This tool helps you generate SEO-friendly sitemaps directly from your keywords — perfect for planning website architecture or content strategy.

What This Tool Actually Does (Read This First)

This is a content-planning tool, not a live-site sitemap generator. It turns a keyword list into a draft XML file with guessed URLs (using a /tag/keyword pattern) and today's date — it does not crawl your website, and it does not check whether those pages actually exist. Most sitemap tools you'll find online work the opposite way: they crawl a real URL you already have live and build a sitemap from pages that already exist.

Use this tool to sketch out a content plan or URL structure before you build the pages — not to submit directly to Google Search Console. Submitting a sitemap full of URLs that don't exist yet can create unnecessary crawl errors and "soft 404" issues in Search Console.

Why This Tool Is Useful Anyway

  • Content planning: turn a keyword research list into a visual draft of what your site's URL structure could look like.
  • Information architecture: quickly see how many topic pages a keyword cluster would require.
  • Team handoff: hand a developer or content writer a draft list of exact URLs to build toward, instead of a vague keyword spreadsheet.

How to Use It

Step 1: List your keywords

Paste one keyword or topic per line into the first box — these should be the topics you're planning content around, not existing page titles.

Step 2: Enter your domain

Type your domain without http:// or https://, for example yourdomain.com.

Step 3: Convert and review

Click "Convert to Sitemap" to generate the draft XML. Each keyword becomes a slug — lowercased, with spaces turned into hyphens and special characters removed — under a /tag/ path.

Step 4: Copy and adapt

Click "Copy Sitemap to Clipboard" to grab the result. Treat it as a starting draft: update the URL path if your site doesn't use /tag/ (see the FAQ below), and only include entries once those pages are actually published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit this sitemap directly to Google Search Console?
Not as-is. It's meant for planning, and lists URLs that may not exist yet. Only submit a sitemap once every URL in it corresponds to a real, published page.

My site doesn't use a /tag/ URL structure — what do I do?
The tool assumes a generic /tag/keyword path as a placeholder. Blogger sites, for example, typically use /search/label/ for label pages rather than /tag/. Find-and-replace the path in the output to match your actual site structure before using it.

Does this check whether the pages already exist?
No. It generates the file purely from the keyword list you type in, without checking your live site at all.

How are keywords converted into URL slugs?
Each keyword is lowercased, special characters are removed, and spaces become hyphens — for example, "Wood Pellet Guide!" becomes wood-pellet-guide.

Is my keyword list uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or saved.
